Fibreglass Filters

The fibreglass filters are silica sand filters designed for use in small to medium sized package treatment plant projects. The filters are manufactured out of glass reinforced polyester resin. The resin selection can be tailored for specific applications where liquids other that water are to be filtered. The filters are available in 2 sizes – a smaller unit 700 mm in diameter and a larger 1 200 mm diameter filter. The filters are of application in potable water treatment and in industrial effluent treatment. In the smaller filter backwashing is achieved with filtered water only, while in the 1.2 m diameter filter the backwash sequence includes an air scour facility that improves the effectivity of the backwash process and helps to prevent mudballing and channelling.
